Minqian Li

Minqian Li (M. Q. Li ) is a professor of physics in Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a vice chairman of academic committee of the institute. He also is a member of Shanghai expert committee for Nanotechnology. He graduated from Fudan University Department of Physics in 1962. From 1981 to 1983, he was a visiting scholar in Max-Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics in Hiedelberg, Germany. Li was named a doctoral advisor by the Academic degree committee of the Chinese state council in 1993.

Since 1987, he was engaged in Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) and Nano-science And Nanotechnology. Meanwhile, he visited University of California, USA; Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan and University of Saarlandes, Germany to do related cooperation research on "identification and manipulation of single DNA molecules". In 1994, Li was named National Young and Middle-aged Scientist with outstanding contribution by the Chinese state council. Li is a chief editor of text book on "Nanotechnology changes human life", which is one of pilot items for the Chinese 2049 projects. He wrote a book on "Molecular Surgery and Nano-medicine", which was published in 2005 by Shanghai Science and Technology Literature Press (www.sstlp.com).
